Silver Legacy, Reno, NVSilver Legacy, which is owned by MGM Mirage and Eldorado Hotel Casino and is one of the city's newest casino hotels, brought the complete Las Vegas themed-megaresort experience to Reno. Highlights include an 85,000 square foot casino with over 2,000 slots, a 38-story hotel tower, six restaurants including an all-you-can-eat buffet, headline entertainment, and a European-style health spa. The theme here is Victorian-era silver mining. From the outside you will probably notice the big dome, which is a landmark on the Reno skyline. At 180 feet in diameter, this is the world's largest composite dome. Inside is a large (120 foot) automated mining machine, which is the centerpiece of Silver Legacy's casino.
The property is located in downtown Reno on Virginia Street with
Circus Circus Reno to the north and Eldorado to the south.
Silver Legacy is connected to both
of those casinos through an inside walkway on the second floor, which expands the range of
convenient dining, gaming, and lodging options essentially under one roof.
For example, for families staying at the more child-friendly Circus Circus, the adults have
easy access to the more upscale restaurants and entertainment found at the adjoining properties.
The hotel has over 1,700 rooms including
145 spa suites and eight penthouse suites in three towers.
The towers range from 31 to 38 floors, with the west tower, at more than 400 feet, being
northern Nevada's tallest.
Standard rooms are medium sized (335 square feet), and decorated in a Victorian theme. As off Spring 2010, all
rooms have been remodeled with new furniture, artwork, and lighting.
Amenities included a hairdryer, iron and board, cable tv, and pay-per-view movies, but no safe or
coffee maker. Wireless internet is available throughout the property.
There is also a seasonal roof top heated swimming pool (4th floor), a spa, a business center, a concierge services desk,
free self parking in the garage, complimentary valet, a rental car counter, a free airport shuttle, and 50,000 square feet of meeting
and convention space.
The Health Spa services include massages, excercise equipment, steam rooms, saunas, and
whirlpool baths.
The gaming space occupies 85,000 square feet on two levels with 1,600 slot machines and
over 80 table games. Mr Fairchild's mining rig, which rests on the first level, towers over the entire
casino. Slots range from penny on up to high-limit denominations. There is also
a Keno Lounge, a Race & Sports Book featuring the
largest video wall in downtown Reno, and a fully automated Poker Pro® poker room.
Silver Legacy hosts frequent tournaments and other casino promotions. Join Club legacy to earn comps and special offers
from your play.
Sterling's Seafood Steakhouse is their award-winning gourmet restaurant with
an elegant, relaxing atmosphere. It features a wood-burning mesquite grill and serves
up steaks (about $25), seafood (from $23), and other meat entrees. Sunday Champagne Brunch is also served.
Fairchild's Oyster Bar is a casual shellfish and seafood bistro. The menu includes
such favorites as pan roasts, jambalaya, scampi, and fish and chips. Open for lunch and dinner.
Cafe Sedona, which is open 24 hours, serves American and Chinese
cuisine (entrees are typically $8-15), hot sandwiches, steaks, etc. Some good specials can
usually be found here such as a late night Ribeye Steak and Egg Special, Surf and Turf Specials, etc.
Flavors! The Buffet is a good all you can eat place with international food stations,
a prime rib carving station, and a Friday Seafood Buffet.
Fresh Express Food Court is a nice spot off the first floor casino for
a casual meal, such as the $2.99 breakfast, made-to-order deli and grilled sandwiches ($5), pizza, burgers
($4), shrimp cocktail ($1.50), surf and turf, coffee, desserts, and Chinese noodles.
SIPS - Coffee, tea, and pastries.
Eldorado and Circus Circus Reno, which are connected to Silver Legacy Resort, also have some excellent
dining choices.
The Silver Legacy features big name entertainment and has a blockbuster schedule
in its Grande Exposition Hall.
The legendary Catch a Rising Star Comedy Club showcases stand-up comedy from
the country's hottest up-and-coming comedians six nights a week.
There is also live music in Rum Bullions Island Bar and the Silver Baron Lounge. Other nightlife options include
the Aura Ultra Lounge and the Drinx Lounge.
Silver Legacy is also
convenient to the Reno Events Center, City Center Pavillion, the National Bowling Stadium and other
downtown venues as well as shows at other nearby casinos.

decor, jewelry, and fine wine. There is also a store with gifts, snacks, and sundries near the hotel lobby.
