Review & Photos of Club Cal-Neva Reno
The Cal Neva is located in the heart of downtown Reno (down by the river on Virginia Street
and Center Street between First and Second Avenues). It is in close proximity
to the other casinos, being just south of Harrah's.
The Club Cal Neva is a lively place, and it has the feel of an old time, dimly lit casino,
but with modern slots and amenities. They draw the crowds with good specials
on food and low-minimum gambling, rather than with luxuries and big-name entertainment.

Club Cal Neva Hotel -
The hotel is rather small by casino standards with just over 300 rooms located in the
Nevadan and Virginian Towers. The rooms are generally cheap, often under $30 midweek in the Nevadan
Tower (the more-desireable Virginian Tower runs $10 to $20 more).

Club Cal Neva Entertainment -
Cal Neva is light on entertainment compared to some of the other Reno casinos, such as Harrah's. They do have live entertainment on weekends and occasionally host a concert.

Club Cal-Neva
Club Cal Neva Casino -
Cal-Neva is a very busy casino that is divided between two buildings (connected
by an alley and a skywalk). The place has a warm, old-timey feel to it. The main floor in
particular gets quite crowded and there is a sort of old railroad theme with dim lighting.
Upstairs can get just as crowded, but it is more open and they actually let some sunlight
in to one section near the skywalk.
Cal Neva promotes itself as having
very low limits, such as $1.00 roulette. They also run a weekly coupon sheet with
special offers for casino play, plus food and drink deals.
There are more than 1,600 slots and video poker games on the many floors of the
casino. These include all of the latest and most popular types, plus there are some pretty
old worn-out looking machines in case you prefer those.
Other games include Keno, craps,
roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Let It Ride and more. There is also a poker room located upstairs with daily tournaments.
The Club Cal Neva operates over 14 Race and Sports Books throughout Reno and Nevada, with
the main Sports Book located at their own casino where sporting events are shown on more than
160 televisions.

Club Cal Neva Dining Guide -
If you count the snack bars, Club Cal-Neva has six spots to get a meal. The prices are a
big draw. They have good old fashioned food specials such as a large brekkie for
$3.99, $2.50 for a hot dog and a Heineken, and usually an $8.95 prime rib dinner.
See their web site or check the signs and flyers in the casino for current specials information.
- The Top Deck Restaurant, which is their 24 hour coffee shop,
features numerous specials for lunch and dinner as well as their 99¢ Ham 'N Eggs
served 24 hours a day. Most entrees are about $7 or enjoy a 3-item platter for $4.95.
- The Copper Ledge Restaurant is a steak house that overlooks the Center Street
casino gaming area. This is home to Cal-Neva's prime rib special (and usually some other
steak specials). They also serve breakfast and various entrees such as chicken parmesan, pan grilled sea scallops, pork chops, and coconut shrimp ($12.95 including soup or salad,
vegetables, and a baked potato).
- The Skyway Deli is located on the Skywalk. They offer sandwiches, soups and salads, hot beverages, donuts and pastries. A typical special here
is a slice of pizza and a beer for only $2.25.
- Casino Grill - the cook will fix you up with some very cheap and greasy grub
(burgers, hot dogs, chicken or fish sandwich, fries, eggs).
- The Sports Deli is also a great spot for cheap food (hot dog and a draught for $2.50, tweo tacos and a draught for $2.75,
