Review and Photos of Peppermill Casino Reno
Everything about Peppermill Casino Hotel is over the top. And we mean that in a good way.
While the flashy decor is the first thing that will strike you, there is a lot more
to the Peppermill experience that sets it apart from your average casino including:
consistently good dining choices
with frequent specials, an entertaining atmosphere on the casino floor, comfortable
rooms and suites, and top-notch service.
The Peppermill continues to gather accolades for the Reno/Sparks area in the Nevada
Magazine's Best of Nevada readers polls. These include: Best Hotel/Resort, Best Place to
Gamble, Friendliest Casino, Best Gourmet Restaurant, Best Italian Restaurant, and the Best
Buffet. Readers polls by Casino Player and Strictly Slots magazines also
hand their casino and restaurants 'Best of Reno' awards annually.
Peppermill is located about two miles south of downtown on Virginia Street. The area to the
south of Peppermill, near the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, is home to some shopping malls,
restaurants, and the Atlantis Casino Resort (about one mile). The airport is also close by.

Peppermill Hotel -
Peppermill Reno has over 1,000 tower rooms and suites in its two towers (Peppermill Tower and the new Tuscany Tower) and the Montego Bay Wing.
Some are lavishly themed (e.g. Safari, Roman, etc.). You can reserve a suite or upgrade
to one when checking in.
There is also a swimming pool, spa, salon, health club, arcade, and concierge, as well as business and
convention facilities.
We stayed in a standard Peppermill Tower Room with two queen beds. The furnishings and decor
were
Peppermill-flashy (blue and black color scheme with lots of mirrors, velour and velvet fabrics,
and glossy black furniture), but the room quality, size, and comfort were top-notch.
The room was equipped with a hair dryer, desk, clock radio, lounge chairs, cable television with in-room
movies and internet service, make-up mirror, iron, and a mini "robo" bar stocked with liquor,
drinks, snacks, and soda (no safe, coffee maker, or HBO). Suites have a wet bar, fridge,
multiple televisions, safe, steam shower, and fax.
The Tuscany Tower, which is opens in December 2007, has 600 suites tastefully decorated with Italian artwork and with marble bathrooms.
Complimentary airport shuttle service is available. There is ample free self parking and valet.
Peppermill Hotel Rates -
Rates for Tower rooms typically range from $59 to $139 with
Saturday night at the top rate. Tower Spa
Suites are $40 more per night, while rooms in the lodge outside of the
tower are $10 per night less. There are also golf and ski packages available.
Swimming Pools & Health Club - The year-round heated pool sits at the base of Peppermill's
own Sierra mountain with waterfalls and a computer-driven wildlife show. There is also a jacuzzi, and
you may order rooom service to the pool. Hotel
guests also enjoy complimentary admission to the Health Club where they have various excercise equipment
and a sauna.
Salon & Spa - Peppermill's Spa and Salon has a full range of services for men and women
including massages, hair styling, facials, nail care, and other treatments.
Arcade Xtreme - over 100 of the latest video and prize games.
Business Center & Meetings - peppermill's Business Center services include color copying, faxes, computers, lamination, and office supplies. Peppermill
has over 40,000 square feet of space for events, with a full complement of in-house services (planning, catering, audio-visual, etc.). Upon its completion,
the Tuscany Tower

Entertainment @ Peppermill Casino -
Free entertainment includes free shows (usually a local band) on the Cabaret stage starting at 7 PM nightly.
The Steakhouse Lounge has live piano music from 8:00 to 11:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays.
Peppermill's Mahogany Ballroom hosts the bigger concerts and shows.
Themed bars are located throughout the casino. There are twelve of them with a wide range of

Peppermill Reno
Peppermill Casino -
Peppermill Casino is a vibrant, purple wonderland for adults. There is pink and purple everywhere
(the lights, furniture, etc); the rest of the space is filled with tropical plants, chandeliers,
video monitors, themed bars, and casino games. Maybe this much flashy glitz all
packed into one space would be tacky somewhere else, but here it is actually warm and inviting.
There are over 1900 slots including popular old stand-bys, the latest video machines, and a few
we didn't see anywhere else in Reno. The machines are all ticket-in ticket-out for easy redemption
(and cleaner hands). Barracude Beach is a happening area loaded with the latest penny slots. Video Poker
players might find some full-pay machines if they look long enough. In
addition to machine and table games, there is also Keno, a smoke-free poker room, and a race and sports
book (with 74 monitors and 70 arm chairs).
Peppermill runs weekly tournaments, as well as some bigger, less-frequent tourneys. The
weekly tournament schedule includes events in Black Jack, Keno, Poker and Video Poker, and slot machines.
The Plus55 program includes benefits such as discounts on meals for senior
citizen such as 2 for 1 Island Buffet breakfast or lunch.

Peppermill Dining Guide -
Peppermill targets the locals market as well as tourists, so they emphasize good food and
value. Their restaurants consistently win "Best of Reno" awards in local
polls as well as in national publications like Strictly Slots and Casino Player
magazines.
Peppermill always has some good food specials. They run many early bird specials, late
night specials, and other deals, which are advertised in the resort and around town.
For example, recently from midnight until
6:00 am daily, there was a $4.99 breakfast special in the Coffee Shop.
The breakfast included steak and eggs, omelets, Eggs Benedict, Southern biscuits and gravy,
and more. The Coffee Shop also featured a $4.95 "Comfort Menu" Monday through Friday with
such entrees as country fried steak and fried chicken.
Dining choices include the following:
- Peppermill 24-Hour Coffee Shop offers family dining in a 'luxury' setting.
The place is decked out in Norwegian marble, swedish upholstery, and cherry trees. Dinner entrees
includes prime rib, steak and lobster, ribs, Chinese, fish, etc. The menu also includes sandwiches,
burgers, soups and salads, as well as breakfast food.
- Island Buffet, one of the best buffets in Reno, is a tropical rainforest
themed space decked out with 40 foot waterfalls, colorful birds, and exotic
flowers. There are over 150 food choices for each meal with some custom cooking stations.
Dinner is about $15.
- International Food Court is open for lunch and dinner. There are seperate windows
for various international foods (Chinese, Mexican, Italian, American). The food, which is
freshly prepared,
is better than your average mall food court, and so is the service and level of comfort.
- Café Espresso serves drinks and items from the bakery case.
- Oceano - serves fresh seafood in an undersea environment. The menu includes Maine lobster, sushi, pan roasts, chowders, fish,
pasta, steak, and more seafood. The restaurant also includes a wine and sake bar. Open for lunch and dinner.
- Steak House and Lounge serves steak, veal, lamb, chicken, and seafood entrees
(starting at $20-25). Some dishes are prepared tableside, and there is live entertainment
in the lounge on weekends.
- Romanza Ristorante Italiano not only serves Italian food, they bring Italy to
Northern Nevada. At this heavily-themed restaurant, patrons dine to Italian music amid marble
columns and statues under a
skydome that changes the scene from sunset to twilight as the night progresses. The fare here
includes pasta dishes as well as other entrees (such as steak, fish, veal, chicken, seafood,
lamb, and wood-fired specialties). The pasta dishes start at about $11.50, and other entrees
start at $20.
- Sports Deli serves piled-high sandwiches on fresh baked bread. Located next to the Sports Book.
- White Orchid is Peppermill's award-winning, gourmet restaurant; it is rated four diamonds
by AAA. They serve "American contemporary cuisine" in an elegant setting. There is also an
award-winning wine cellar. Appetizers include such delicacies as foie gras, kobe beef, and
escargot. Entrees, which start at around $30, include steak, seafood, and fish, as well as some
more exotic dishes with elk, duck, and kobe beef.
