Virginia City Orientation:
Virginia City sits over the Comstock Lode in Northwestern Nevada. Silver and gold were first discovered in the region in 1859, and the city became
a bustling boom town with many of its early settlers becoming instant millionares. Today, Virginia City is a historical landmark preserving many of its
original structures and its old west roots. C Street, which is the main drag through town, is lined with saloons, museums, souvenir shops that are popular with
tourists. Old churches, government buildings, and cultural sites from the Bonanza era are also preserved throughout the town.
Location: Virginia City is situated within easy driving distances between Reno and Carson City. From Carson City take highway US-50 east out of town,
turn left onto NV-341 and into Virginia City. From Reno, head south on highway US-395 towards Carson City, then exit onto NV-341 (Geiger Grade Rd)
into town.
