Sparks, which is Nevada's fifth largest city, is located 4 miles from downtown Reno. Visitors flock to
Spark's Victorian Square, which is home to some of Northern Nevada's most popular events as well as one of the area's largest casino
resorts (Ascuaga's Nugget). Outdoor recreationists will enjoy Sparks Marina Lake Park, which offers swimming, fishing, and boating in an 80 acre man-made lake.
Location: Sparks is in the northeast quadrant of the Reno-Sparks Metro area. It is just 4 miles east of Reno's downtown and 3 miles north of Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
The city is bisected by Interstate 80, and the major north-south thoroughfares are highway US-395 and McCarran Blvd. There is also an Amtrak station located in
Sparks, with daily service by the California Zephyr.
