Lake Tahoe's South Shore
The South Shore is rich in outdoor recreational activities such as beaches and marinas,
hiking trails, and winter sports. Gamblers visiting the region will be particularly interested in the adjoining towns of Stateline, NV and South Lake
Tahoe CA, which complement each other by providing a wide array of different amenities. Stateline, of course, is the gaming center with its
large casino resorts, while South Lake Tahoe is a more family-style alpine resort town.

Harrah's and Montbleu (formerly Caesars Tahoe) are two of the largest resorts, and among the most popular with visitors. In addition to
24-hour gaming, each property provides guests with a wide range of dining options, entertainment, and shopping outlets.
We provide full details with pictures of these two casino hotels on seperate pages:

Stateline, Nevada
Lake Tahoe's six South Shore casinos are located in the town of Stateline, NV. As its name implies, Stateline is just north of the
California border. Five casinos, including four Vegas-style reorts, line a strip of US Highway 50 within feet of the California border. Another casino,
the Lakeside Inn and Casino, is about one mile further up the road.
The six Stateline casinos include the following:
- Bill's Casino
- Harrah's Lake Tahoe
- Harvey's Lake Tahoe
- Horizon Casino Resort
- Lakeside Inn & Casino
- MontBleu (formerly Caesars Tahoe)
South Lake Tahoe, California
The adjacent California town of South Lake Tahoe provides many additional shopping, dining, and lodging
opportunities for visitors. For example, just to the south of the casino strip, is Heavenly Village, which features numerous shops and restaurants, hotels,
and high-speed gondola rides up and down the mountain.
Lakeside Inn and Casino
Lakeside Inn and Casino, a locals favorite, is a small casino that is known for its friendliness, affordable dining, and low-limit gaming. It is
located less than one mile from the California border and the other Stateline casinos.
Lakeside Inn & Casino
Lakeside's casino has slot machines (including popular penny and nickel games), table games (black jack, 10X odd craps, and roulette), live poker,
keno, and a race and sports book.
The hotel has approximately 120 comfortable rooms and resembles a rustic mountain lodge. Amenities include a seasonal swimming pool, year-round hot tub,
arcade, and a gift shop.
Lakeside has two restaurants and several lounges. The Timber House Restaurant & Bar is open 24-hours, and has some great specials (such as
$2.99 breakfast and $10.50 prime rib). Taberna Mexican Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Entertainment, such as karaoke, is scheduled
in the bars on weekends.

Bill's Casino
Bill's Casino
Bill's is a small, friendly, laid-back, smoke-free alternative to the towering resorts on the Stateline Strip. It is situated between MontBleu and Harrah's.
Bill's, which is owned by Harrah's,
has no hotel but does feature a casual restaurant and nightclub. This is basically a low-roller joint with abundant nickel slots, and relatively
low minimums at the tables (such as $3 blackjack), and better payouts than the larger resorts (including 20x craps and more generous video poker pay tables).
For dining, Bill's features a Subway sandwich shop.
